Since I’m on a roll of skincare brands that I haven’t explored, let’s add another to the list- Murad. It’s also been on my radar a lot, as I’ve had a tiny sample of their face peel a long time ago, but I’ve been very good on not spending money lately. Thankfully, the team at Murad Canada sent me some products to try and share with you! I feel like these three featured products are very summer friendly- lightweight and hydrating.
Detoxifying White Clay Body Cleanser | $31 CAD/ 6.75 Fl oz
Whenever I use a sheet mask, I take the leftover serum stuff in the pack and LATHER IT ON MY LEGS. I’ve always talked how my legs are drier than the Sahara Desert and its true, so I am always on the hunt for a great body product. Murad’s Detoxifying White Clay Body Cleanser is almost like a mask for legs- it contains Kaolin Clay that absorbs oil and detoxifies skin. It also has
- Omega 6 Essential Fatty Acids, Safflower seed oil, Sunflower seed oil to prevent moisture loss.
- Ginger Root Extract for stimulating circulation
- Notes of Lemongrass Vetiver for a citrusy aroma.
Together, it smells a bit like grapefruit with a kick of spice.This is a deluxe body cleanser; it feels like something that would be at a spa. A little bit is needed to get a good lather to spread across my body and left my skin feeling soft, not stripped. Although it’s a body cleanser, I’m super tempted to try this on my face because using clay masks on my face is a bit annoying (scrubbing clay out of my face is like digging holes in Holes.) I have a 2 Fl oz sample so I’ll be using this preciously.
Essential-C Cleanser | $42 CAD / 6.75 Fl oz
As the “C” is in its name, you guessed it, there’s Vitamin C in the Essential-C Cleanser, as well as Vitamin A and Vitamin E. The scent is an orange-y scent due to a mix Mandarin Orange, Basil and Grapefruit. This is not a foamy wash, but when combined with water, it feels very foamy without the foam (not sure if that translated my thoughts right…) It left my face clean and soft and did a good job in removing face makeup as well. My skin is pretty dry and luckily I didn’t get that tight feeling after rinsing with Essential-C. The downside that this is a fairly expensive cleanser. (but it’s $28 on Amazon USA
Rapid Collagen Infusion for Lips| $30/0.33 Fl oz
The body can’t absorb collagen through the skin, but I was intrigued by this lip product anyway because I have an inkling my lips are aging faster than my face. My lips have quite a bit of lines on it and I’d love to seek any products that can fill them so I can wear lipstick better. The Rapid Collagen Infusion for Lips is an anti-aging lip serum that delivers micronized collagen amino acids to plump fine lines and wrinkles. It contains:
- Apple Extract for hydration
- Shea Butter and Hyaluronic Acid to balance moisture levels
- Collagen Support Complex, an anti-aging peptide blend that increases collagen production and “reduce the appearance of vertical lip lines and wrinkles”
- Mustard Sprout Extract for increasing volume and stimulating circulation
It claims to “instantly plump” the lips but I honestly didn’t see any difference when I used this. 🙁 My lips are naturally quite plump so I’m not sure if that could be a reason why (am I at maximum plumpness haha.) The product absorbed immediately into my lips, so this would be awesome for those who have dry lips but they don’t like lip balm for that sticky or waxy or slippy feel (which I love.) My lips felt silkier after but the plumping/lip filling just didn’t happen for me. I know a lot of you out there don’t like the minty, tingling feeling in a lip plumper and I live for that, so maybe this product just wasn’t meant for me.
Overall, I enjoyed the Detoxifying White Clay Body Cleanser and the Essential-C Cleanser, but the Rapid Collagen Infusion for lips was so-so. Murad certainly got their cleanser formula pat down!
