Many eyeshadow palettes bore me because I either dislike/do not use half the colours or the palette has too ordinary colours (like, where is my Naked Palette 1 that is collecting dust somewhere?) Once in a while a gem lands in my hands and I can say that the Lise Watier Rivages Eyeshadow PaletteĀ has everything I would like to put on my eyes.
The Rivages Eyeshadow Palette is part of Lise Watier’s Rivages summer collection and it IS limited edition. The shadows are housed in this rose gold and shell pattern packaging. It’s very snug in my hands and I like the wide mirror. If I were to bring one palette with me to vacation from now on, it would be this one, seriously. I’m not going to lie, this palette is on the pricey side at $54 CAD, but you are getting 10 shades, and each shade contains 1.5g. From other brands, you usually get half the amount in a single pan for around $20+. Of course, there is probably a trade off so lets dig deeper and see if the pigmentation and colours are worth the splurge….

When it comes to eyeshadow, I like neutrals, coppers, purples, and the poopy olive green. The Rivages Palette seemed to read my mind and it gave me those shadows that I wear most. The top row has softer colours and I did need to swipe a few times to get the pigmentation I wanted. The bottom row has two mattes and I LOVE the bronze shade the most (bottom row, second to the right.)

I wore these shadows (sans primer) for around 8 hours and noticed slight creasing where my hooded eyelid folds, but the colour was still intact. In my picture, I used mainly the bronze shade, as well as the light pink (first row, third from the right) in the inner corner and middle of my eyelid. On the outer corner, I used the dark purple for subtle definition.Ā Given that my blending skills are below the scale, I found these were quite easy to swirl together on my eyelid; I used a smudging brush from Sephora to do my eyeshadows here.
I think the colour range here is great if you want a day time look in the office or on a date, or you can amp it up with the darker colours and mix it with some light colours at night. If you don’t have a neutral palette and want to invest in a luxury makeup brand, the Lise Watier Rivages Eyeshadow Palette would be my pick. There are some neutral palettes I regret buying because I don’t really use that much eyeshadow and thought well if I have that palette of normal, nude-y colours I’d use it more often but NOPES. If I could return all of them and just keep the Lise Watier one, I’d be so much happier.
