When I meet a gloss, I either hate it or love; I feel that my chubby lips and certain glosses just don’t go together- it’s like marrying oil and water together. Throw in chapped lips and gloss can make my lips look like a disaster. However, I liked how the Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi Gloss sat on me (okay, maybe mainly the pink shade) and now I feel motivated to wear more glosses besides Dior’s Lip Maximizer.
The Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi Glosses look a bit normal on the outside; just a cylindrical tube with a black cap (but the lip embellishment on top of the cap is super cute and a nice touch!) However, it’s all about the formula and the flexible doe foot applicator. The rounded tip of the applicator is for the cupid’s bow and the flat side is for contouring and filling in the lips. I personally like how wide the tip of the applicator is; works well for the width of my lips.
The shades I received to try were 103 (Beige Pink) and 501 (Purple.) The Beige Pink applied more evenly whereas the Purple was a bit streaky and it was tricky to get an even coat of purple on my lips. Hip hip hoorays go to the amount of colour you get with one swipe; they are truly vibrant and pigmented. The glosses are a bit sticky when I applied (thank goodness for summer = tying up that long hair everyday), but it does last for 5 hours as claimed, which is a lot longer than most lipsticks I own. As these glosses aren’t advertised to be hydrating; I do like to say it didn’t dry out my lips. Did I mention there’s 35 shades in total?!

I think I can wear a colour like Beige Pink every single day. It adds the perfect amount of shine and colour to my overall complexion. On the other hand, I think purple lips are just nottttt the colour for my skin tone, I look a bit older when with purple IMO (and maybe I also slapped on heavier makeup to go with the purple lip. How do you rock a purple lip?! Tips PLEASE!)
Overall, these glosses are comfy, long wearing, and the price isn’t TOO bad either ($23 CAD!) If only I can pull off purple, I’d wear it often but Beige Pink has been sitting in my purse ever since I got it. You can find Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi Gloss at Make Up For Ever Boutiques or instore and online at Sephora .
