I so rarely do a mascara review on here since mascara isn’t a category of makeup that fascinates me (I know, crazy right?!) and I actually rarely wear mascara in most of my blog selfies. With hooded eyelids, I find it a bit hard to capture the perfect mascara moment with my eyes, but the Make Up For Ever Smoky Stretch Mascara has wormed its way out of my”mascaras that are ok” pile.
The Make Up For Ever Smoky Stretch Mascara ($28 CAD at Sephora) is a lengthening and defining mascara, with a flexible wand that helps separate your lashes and giving “infinite length.” I find that most mascaras I used that claim they volumnize just gives a bit of length with no ample volume, so I like how simple the description of the Smoky Stretch Mascara is; it’s here to lengthen your lashes.
Look how spiky this wand is; it kind of reminds me of the Tangle Teezer; there’s various lengths of teeth on the wand that helps catch every eyelash; no man is left behind. The wand is also very thin and easy to maneuver.
After two coats, my lashes appeared longer, defined, and separated as the mascara claimed to do (ignore my fail winged eyeliner in here.)
My lashes look lifted, which is great since when I wear glasses, my eyes do shrink behind the glass by a bit and this mascara just helps my eyes open up and look less squished. And there was no flakiness from the mascara, but I did have the slightest smudge at the corners after a while; but nothing to cry about. $28 is a bit steep for a mascara, but this mascara claims exactly what it does, which makes it an ideal everyday mascara.
