I haven’t done a “FOTD” post in a while and initially wasn’t sure what kind of name should I call it. Since there’s a lot of green going on and the palette I’m using is called “Five Shades of Fresh,” I have decided to dub this makeup look as “Forest Fresh.” I am trying out a new brand called Borghese, which was found by Princess Marcella Borghese in 1958 as a subsidiary of Revlon! Makeup fit for a princess? Yes, please!
The Bourghese Eye Five Shades of Fresh Eye Shadow palette ($29) and Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorRise Blush in Thrill ($30) are both encased in a quilted faux leather, cardboard-based case. Both products are made in Italy. At first glance, I found the packaging a bit boring; the hinge of the palettes are kind of weak and they don’t stand up on its own, so it’s kind of hard to apply eye shadow while looking at this small mirror. On the bright side, I like how flat and lightweight the packaging is, which makes it very convenient for storage purposes.
If you’ve seen a few of my OOTD posts; I love the shade of military green so this palette fits right into my comfort zone. The total weight of the shadows are 8.5g, which is 1.7g of product per shadow. The Five Shades of Fresh consists of earthy and khaki shades. As described online, these shades are:
- Tender: soft, pale neutral khaki satin
- Raw: light yellow-olive satin
- Sass: mid-tone green with multi-dimensional pearl
- Fierce: deep, dark-olive, satin-matte
- Wild: clean neutral khaki-gold shimmer
Sass and Fierce have the most pigmentation and they are most fun to play with. I didn’t even bother wearing eyeliner as I used these shadows, but I did use Fierce as an under eyeliner. I needed a few more swatches to get Tender to show up; and I think the best use for it is as a brow bone highlighter. Raw is a super gorgeous shade; as it looks like a blend of gold, green, and brown. Wild is very shimmery, so a tiny bit of it at the corner of my inner eyes is added to brighten up my panda eyes. The formulation of each eyes hadow is silky smooth and they lasted around 6 hours before I notice the dark green starting to fade. Fierce and Raw are my favourites out of the five shades, I feel like the other three are more common and can be found somewhere else.

When I first opened the Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorRise Blush in Thrill, I admit wasn’t thrilled by the colour. It looked like a orangey-brown shade that would’ve bored me. Swatching it and slapping it on my face changed everything. Thrill is a very flattering, matte peach shade and has a buttery formulation. I used my Crown C452 brush I got from IMATS last year to apply it on my cheeks. And…..(please don’t hurt me,) I like the feel of it on my finger better than the NARS blushes. I compared to those two as they are both similar in price- $30 for Borghese vs $35 for NARS.
Thrill would suit many people’s complexion in my opinion, it can range from a sheer to a brighter shade. I don’t have another colour like this in my collection.
Overall- the Five Shades of Fresh Eyeshadows were super fun to play with, but only 2 colours really wowed me. As a person who doesn’t wear shadow too often, I would not repurchase; but others who are looking into a green eyeshadow palette
