As I am getting older day by day, I got to slowly make sure to take care of my skin more. I was recently introduced to a brand I never heard of before, Dr Roebuck’s- an Australian brand that uses a minimal amount of ingredients in their formula (all products made in Australia as well!) This brand has actually been around for 30 years, and can be found at Murale and select Shoppers Drug Mart stores.
Dr Roebuck’s PURE ($54.95/100mL) is the base of all their other skincare products; it was made to be used on sensitive skin and help those with eczema or allergies. It also seals the moisture in the skin and increases its elasticity. PURE can be used as a night or day moisturizer for problem skin. Though I do not have sensitive skin or react to many products, you can never be too careful! I noticed that when spring came, my eyes got itchy and the area around my lips were SUPER dry, which has never happened before!
The ingredients in the products are: Purified Water (Aqua,) Emulsifying Wax, Glycerin, Paraffinum Liquidum, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Caprylate (natural preservative,) Sodium Benzoate (natural preservative.)
I’ve been sampling this for around 4 weeks now. I find that PURE is rather thick and the instructions say to apply it and leave it with a white layer on top of the skin and it will be absorbed in minutes. Hence, I’ve been using this as a night cream as I usually don’t give myself too much time in the mornings before work. It sort of works as an overnight mask/night moisturizer for me cause I wake up with pillow soft and plump skin. I haven’t had any breakouts so far and the dry area around the sides of my nose are less flakey. As I don’t have sensitive skin or any allergies, I can’t say for sure if PURE helped me in those aspects, but there is no fragrance to the cream, so it super smell friendly!
I really enjoy the packaging of the tub, the traditional looking tub makes the product look super professional! Would I repurchase? Maybe, if I find that my skin is becoming more sensitive as my age, but for now I do enjoy using different moisturizers. But if you do have eczema or allergies, I do recommend it because it seems like a gentle formula that works universally!
