Three more Amie Skincare Products

Pastel coloured packaging, affordable price tag, sulphate and paraben free…and at the drugstore?! I’m introducing our friend, Amie, again. (Amie is also French for “friend”;))

Amie Petal Perfect 2 in 1 cleanser toner ($8/200mL)

I sometimes just use toner + moisturizer before I sleep (and skip the cleansing) which is probably not good skincare practice. Make a multi-tasking product that tones and cleanses…I’m in! Amie’s Petal Perfect 2 in 1 Cleanser is oil free, alcohol free, and contains nutritious ingredients such as Raspberry extract (full of antioxidants), Apple Fruit Waters (for refreshing and toning), Witch Hazel (soothing), extract of French Rose Petal (detoxing and clear pores), and Orange Blossom (clarifies skin and prevent oiliness).

The cleanser is kind of like a creamy milk and has a light floral scent. My skin felt uber refreshed and hydrated, plus there was no sticky feeling afterwards. For $8 a bottle, nothing could go wrong with this product that cleanses and tones. Since the texture is thicker, the cotton pad doesn’t absorb all of the toner in one go….I’m pretty sure my toners finish FAST because I use cotton pads that absorbs water like Spongebob. For those who take really hot showers, this is the cherry on top after you get out of the water!

Amie Bright Eyes Very Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover ($8)

I’ve been using Amie Bright Eyes Very Gentle Make-Up Remover continuously for a while now (over half is used) and it is as very gentle as labeled. The make-up remover contains ingredients such as Meadow Cornflower (soothes and decongests) Grape Water (calms and soothes,) and Cucumber (hydrates, softens, refreshes.)

The make-up remover does a stellar job in cleaning up my Kat Von D Liner, the cakey concealer, and the sparkly shadow. However, as it is “very gentle,” it doesn’t completely remove the heavier makeup such as waterproof mascaras. They really mean very gentle. As I usually wear very minimal makeup for work (concealer, maybe mascara, maybe eyeliner,) this works for me. Best of all, the remover does not irritate my eyes at all. The fragrance is similar to the Petal Perfect 2 in 1 Cleanser. It is recommended to put the bottle in the fridge for the extra coolness.

Amie Spring Clean Deep Cleansing Mask ($12)

Y’know I love clay masks, and the Amie Spring Clean Deep Cleansing Mask is my to go for battling against the tiny zits that sometimes pop up on my cheeks and cleanse out the clogged up pores.The mask contains Peppermint and lime butter (purifying and cooling the skin) as well as white clay (drawing out dirt).

There is a very strong herbal fragrance to it; but since I love peppermint oil, white flower oil, and tiger balm, I was inhaling this mask. The instructions are to add a thin layer and rinse after 10 minutes. It feels very cool and refreshing once on the skin, like it drank some lemonade. I use this a lot for spot treatments; I noticed the mask is most effective in treating those zits that just came out. By the next morning, they shrunk down in size. This is probably the best bang for your buck in clay mask purchasing.

Out of the three, I recommend the Deep Cleansing Mask and 2 in 1 Cleanser Toner the most; as they had the most effective results for me. The eye makeup remover is probably best for those stepping into makeup and trying a bit of colour and a bit of liner. Amie can be found exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart.
