There are many pieces in my closet that I bought years ago, thought it was fashionable, but didn’t feel comfortable in it and never wore it. Just like this camel cape that I purchased 4-5 years ago?! Even with the rise of Sherlock, I still didn’t feel I could pull off the cape, until my friend had a costume party which required a cape, and this jacket was the closest one I had. And mang, it was fun to wear!
Freedom at last for the arms! Vancouver weather is very fickle, and sometimes I can’t decide if I should wear a lighter jacket or a heavier one! The camel cape is an in-between coat and makes the rest of my outfit look less plain. I remember getting the cape for $21 at Bryan’s Fashions at Lansdowne Centre! I rarely shop at that mall anymore, but sometimes they have pretty good bargains there. Plus, I think this cape is a pretty good Watson cosplay cape too…eh?
Underneath the camel cape, I’m just wearing a plain, basic black sweater from Mango and Hollister jeggings. Since the cape is very trapezoidal looking, I wore jeggings to balance it out (and be more flexible…cause we all know skinny jeans ain’t that comfortable after a while.)
I’m terrible at dressing up in a more feminine fashion (skirts an dresses in Feburary?! Pfft )and chose to wear this outfit when I went to afternoon tea with my boyfriend at The Urban Tea Merchant. PS– I’m wearing my mom’s boots, hooray for petite people genes transferring from mom to daughter!
Do you have a piece of clothing that you don’t wear often or haven’t worn at all?
