I have been on a short haitus for the past two weeks, if you haven’t noticed on my Instagram, I was enjoying the beach in the Bahamas! Since I’m waiting for my transportation to the airport in the next few hours, I figure it’s a good time to get back in touch with my blog and all of you guys. You all know I love myself a good cup of coffee (I’ve been gulping cups daily from the cafe…), and I also love a good exfoliating scrub. Merge those two together, and you can find Lyfe Tea JOE Coffee Scrub. I’m usually a sticker to scrubs that are salt based, so it’s my first time using coffee grinds as an exfoliator. I had a good scrub before coming to the Bahamas for some smooth skin while chilling on the beach.
The JOE Coffee Scrub ($19.95 for 450g) is an all-natural coffee scrub that is meant for cellulite, stretch marks, eczema, acne, and psoriasis. The ingredients in it are very simple- coffee grinds, coconut oil, water, macadamia seed oil, juglans regia, sea salt, Vitamin E oil, brown sugar, and perfume. The directions for using the scrub are:
- Dampen skin
- Apply a generous amount on your body
- Massage scrub for 10 minutes
- Rinse Off
Of course when it comes to coffee, the first time I do when I opened the bag is to inhale the scent of the JOE Coffee Scrub. I usually like my drinks sweet, so the fragrance was a bit bitter and smoky in my opinion. When I used it in the shower, the chunks were quite big and gritty and it took a bit of scrubbing to get it into smaller pieces. I scrubbed it into my skin for less than ten minutes and my skin felt really soft immediately after. However, the scent lingered on my skin and I used another shower gel to cleanse my skin again.
Overall- if you like using with all natural skin care products and love the smoky smell of coffee; this is for you. In my opinion, the smell was too ashy for me, so I wouldn’t repurchase this product. To learn more about Lyfe Tea and other products, check out their website here.
This post is a bit short- but I will be home soon! What’s your favourite exfoliator?
