When it’s time to go to Christmas parties and events and you are choosing your outfit last minute, doing your makeup on the run…but what about your nails? imPRESS Press-On Manicures from Broadway Nails has several designs that will complement your outfit, whether you want some bling or have subtle, but stand out nails. These can be found in drugstores such as London Drugs, retailing around $8.99.
I’ve blogged about these imPress Press-On Manicures in the past here, and my opinion remains the same; they’re efficient, easy and fast to apply, but the fitting is not universal. The imPress nails featured on the blog is for short nails, and for those who have huge thumbs like me, even the largest press on nail is not big enough. Luckily, these aren’t long, so I don’t get that gap between the nails and the artifical nails, though I do have to cut the length of my thumb nail to fit it, but the other artificial nails are longer than my other fingernails. The base of the press on nail doesn’t entirely fit the outline of my thumb, but it’s not noticeable from a distance. The tips of some press-on nails have plastic bits jutting out of the tips, so I had to clip them off.
Each imPress nails package contains 24 nails, so you can get two uses out of it and lose four out of them. I already spilled one of them all over my carpet when I opened Glitz & Glamour, so thank goodness for extras!
Since these nails are pretty snazzy, I wouldn’t want it to take over what I wear, but I’d want it to stand out behind the scenes.
Glitz & Glamour (KN0627) has an oxblood colour base with multi coloured sparkles, mainly silver, on top.
Wear with: Little black dress+ black heels
Glitz & Glamour (KN0417) has a nude base with black and silver french tip.
Wear with: Green or purple dress + silver heels; though this goes well with pretty much everything!
WinkWink (KN0415) has a nude base with a geometric french tip of white and black. On the black, there is a bit of blue flecks that gives it a mulch-dimensional look. (This matches my Pandora charm, Midnight Efferversence!)
Wear with: Cobalt blue dress+ nude heels or black booties
In The Spotlight (KN0418) has a dark purple base, with light purple sparkly gradient coming from the bottom.
Wear with: Light coloured dress (yellow, peach, pink, coral) + white or gold heels
I personally am saving Glitz & Glamour (the black tip french manicure) for my bridesmaid outfit when I go to the Bahamas in January so I don’t even have to think about applying all the nail polish on my nails and then worrying about any chipping and such. Bottom line- if you don’t feel comfortable about nail art, imPress Press-On Manicure is the way to go.
What kind of glitzy nails would you chose from and what would you wear it with?
