I’m getting sleepier these days; most likely since the holidays are around the corner and everything seems more rushed…including blog posts! When it comes to lacking sleep and rushing, my face looks as haggard as my schedule. Luckily, Memebox came up with a Wake Up Makeup box with a bunch of beauty products that enables me to look awake, quickly.
This is my first time getting a Memebox of makeup; Korean makeup has always held an interest as they have the cutest packaging and they’re at much more affordable prices compared to Sephora. I haven’t explored different Korean makeup over the past few years, except for Dr. Jart BB Cream which I purchased at the US Sephora store. Let’s see what kind of makeup is said to give me that refreshed, morning look….
1. Bbia Downy Cheek 3.5g ($12)
This blush is described as an “ultra-blendable cream blush” that gives cheeks “a natural flush of color!” I can definitely attest to this; it’s completely weightless and its buttery texture makes blending the blush super easy on the cheekbones. I received the colour in Downy Peach. The colour reminds me of Benefit’s Majorette blush, minus the powder formulation. My one concern is that dust and fibres may eventually land in to my pan of the blush.
2. It’s Skin Babyface Young Girl Gel Eye Liner 2.2/5.5g ($13)

This is a dual coloured gel eyeliner; and I found that the black was a lot smoother to apply than the purple. It also came with a separate brush, that’s not angled, and it works fairly well. Nevertheless, it had a lovely finish and I really like the pigmentation and shade of purple in the pot. I used black on the top of my eye, and purple for the under.
3. Royal Nature The Original Soothing Blemish Balm SPF 30 PA++ 40 mL ($43)
This BB cream contains calendula extracts, chamomile extracts, cypress essential oil, portulaca extracts, and Royal Nature’s special ‘Angel’s Tear’ complex. It smells a bit plant-y when I open the cap and apply it, but gradually I don’t smell it anymore. The texture is a bit more watery than other BB creams I’ve tried and doesn’t provide heavy coverage., but my skin looks so much more refreshed and brightened.
4. Shara Shar Creamy Dual Auto Eye Stick 1.4g ($9)
Sadly, I already broke one side of this product. This is a double ended, multi-tasking eye stick with an eyeshadow on one end and an eyeliner on the other. I must have not twisted the eyeliner side further down enough, and it got stuck in the lid and the whole stick was detached from the pen itself (typical me.) One end is a pearly pink eyeshadow colour, and the other is a brown eyeliner. Didn’t even get to try the eyeliner except for one swatch. 🙁 I’m not a big pink eyeshadow person but this adds a subtle sheen to brighten the eyes.
5. Cheek Room Two Color Lip Gloss 8mL ($12)
There are two colours in this line, and I received Wine & Nude Peach. This is a “dual lip gloss” that “provides a liquid lip color with the intense, long-lasting hold ofa lip stain and the eye-catching shine of a gloss.” Its “intensely pigmented formula” supposedly brings an opaque color with a matte texture. I found it a bit hard to use this product, since the wand stretches down to the nude peach gloss, so when I take it out,I get a peachy-pink gloss shine, not the matte texture I was expecting. It’s a bit too glossy for my liking, but as far as a lip gloss goes, it’s glossy and feels hydrating.
6. Shara Shara Glitter Pearl Powder 2.2g ($7)
This nail polish looking bottle of Shara Shara Glitter Pearl Powder “boosts its glitter pearls that shine and sparkle in multi-angles and apply super smoothly onto skin, with a silky, long-lasting radiance.” The instructions says to apply it on the lash line or over the eyelids, and under eye line. It can also be used as a highlighter, but it’s a bit too pink/shimmery for my cheek’s liking.

It also came with a gift; Cellbydate The Real Galacto Zero Essence. There wasn’t any information on it in on the information card, but it seems to be like a toner.
The retail price of the Wake Up Makeup Box is $23 and the total value of the contents is $96. This box is almost perfect for products that curate to people who don’t get enough sleep, if it wasn’t missing a concealer; which is important to look awake. In my picture, I threw on some NARS Creamy Concealer for my undereyes, otherwise I’d still look like a zombie. The texture of the Royal Nature BB cream is a bit too thin for the undereyes, unless maybe I waited a bit before it thickens.
