I’m a huge sucker for the little bits and bobs Sephora has in their aisles while you are lining up to pay for makeup, or their tools and accessories section with Sephora branded tweezers, hair ties, sponges and more. I find them incredible adorable and so alluring! Sephora’s own SEPHORA COLLECTION brand has quite a bit of handy things that are purse and travel friendly.
SEPHORA Things are Looking Up Eye Lash Curler ($19 CAD): This is by far one of the handiest beauty devices! Sometimes I do my makeup after work if I’m going somewhere, and carrying my Shu Uemura eyelash curler is bulky and I’m worried it would break in my bag. This compact eyelash curler from Sephora is very easy to slip into the tiny pockets inside my handbag. To fully curl my lashes, I clamp it around 2-3 times to get the effect I want. As you can see from the pictures below, there is a flap at the back of the curler that I bring down to curl the lashes. The plastic part where I press down does feel a bit weak and delicate, but as long as I’m not throwing it around it should be fine.
SEPHORA Look Sharp Pencil Sharpener ($7.50 CAD) is a super cute dual sharpener that fits various sizes of pencils. Adorable colour and shape, easy to carry around and sharpens the tips of my liners without breaking them; this little guy is indeed “professional grade” as Sephora describes it. The blades are made of German stainless steel and there’s also a little pink plastic pick to remove the pencil gunk stuck in the blades. I remember having such a hard time using a toothpick to remove a creamy pencil from my old sharpener that I just chucked the whole thing.
SEPHORA Ribbon Hair Ties ($13 CAD) are no tug hair ties that doesn’t leave those ponytail creases in your hair after you remove it. I really like ribbon hair ties since it doesn’t feel too tight when it’s around my super thick hair and they look cute around the wrist as well. I do find the Sephora brand is a bit expensive for these; since you’re paying over a dollar for a hair tie. I have bought a ton of these online previously since they are so functional. When I did the Grouse Grind this summer I had a bunch of these around my wrist; and I was sweating so much I used a ribbon hair tie to tie the bottom of my shirt in a knot and my boyfriend actually thought I had a special elastic for these kind of things. If you have long thick hair, I highly recommend these!
SEPHORA Travel Light Refillable Bottle 1.75 oz ($4 CAD), SEPHORA Travel Light Refillable Bottle 3.5 oz
($5 CAD), and the SEPHORA Travel Light Refillable Jar 0.87 oz
($5 CAD) are sleek and chic plastic containers for traveling. The smallest bottle (1.75 oz ~ 51 mL) is very cute and I would love to pour my favourite hand creams in them, but the plastic is incredibly hard (though the larger bottle has a softer plastic) so it is hard to squeeze the product out unless I actually unscrew the cap. I wonder if this is a faulty item Sephora made because it is rendered useless if I can’t squeeze anything. The larger refillable jar (3.5 oz ~ 101mL) has a more flexible plastic so I can squeeze my shampoos out; but since this is over 50 mL, it cannot be taken on the plane! I plan to fill this with my favourite shampoo and bring it on my checked luggage to Bahamas trip next month! The refillable jar is my favourite out of the three. It holds around 25 mL of product and this will be handy to carry my liquid foundation or moisturizer with me.
I am a sucker for travel friendly products as I have a weakness for miniature products. I’m super excited for my vacation so I can start packing my travel makeup bag and all! Have you ever tried products from the Sephora Collection?
