Unboxing one of my favourite Memeboxes to date! The #31 Earth & Sea Cosmetics Memebox has a great range of skincare products that contains ingredients “from the earth”- such as charcoal and volcanic ash. I have already been using most of these items in my box since they have shown to be quite productive!
The last Memebox I unboxed was the OMG box, and I have to say I was more impressed with the Earth & Sea box, as I went “oh cool!” when I read each product. Korea have always shown advanced technology in the skincare market and this box is definitely worth your buck!
1: Tosowoong Super Aqua Cooling Gel 80g ($34)
I’ve heard really good things about Tosowoong brand, but I never see them around much; actually, I don’t see Korean products around Vancouver much unless I go to very specific stores, which I don’t do too often. The Super Aqua Cooling Gel is an “ultra cooling cream gel that provides long-lasting freshness and comfort to the face and body.” The “earthy” ingredients in the gel include minerals and nutrients from glacier waters. The gel feels amazing after a hot shower (and after waxing too) since it feels like putting a cold press on. The texture remind me a bit of aloe vera gel. I think it could be a bit more moisturizing- but I think I’m too used to creamy face lotions or my skin is very dry during this season?
2. Secret Nature Volcanic Ash Pore Pack 100g ($36)
I am a bit tired of masks that have charcoal, as I have a mini pile of these now and I’ve seen variations of these masks in other Memeboxes. The Volcanic Ash Pore Pack is enriched with “organic Jeju complex and mineral rich volcanic ash, charcoal, green tea, and pine needle extracts.” This is used for excess sebum control and tightening pores. I find that this product works like most charcoal masks, such as Origins etc. It is pretty neat that it also contains ash, green tea, and pine needle extracts though. Always great to have one of these lying around in the stash- I should host a charcoal mask party sometime; I find that they take me forever to use up!
3. Dewytree Mineral Healthy Sun Cut Loose Powder SPF36 PA++ 10g ($34)
I’m not a finishing powder person, mainly due to laziness, but this was fun to use. There’s a mirror on the top and a powder puff application to pat on the face. The loose powder is enriched with “natural minerals and essential oil for maintaining your skin’s moisture level” and it leaves a “long-lasting silky finish to your makeup.” I haven’t worn this for the whole day yet, but when I patted it on my bare skin, it felt so smooth. I think it makes me look a tad bit pale; I think I’ll use this more during early spring; I like the SPF in it!
4. Shara Shara Black Charcoal Mask Purifying 23g ($2)
Can never say no to a mask! I’ve been hoarding all my masks now; I think I have a 2 year supply at this rate! D: I haven’t been doing masks as often as I want, such a bad habit! I try to do a full “facial”routine at least once a week, mainly Sundays.
5. Elizavecca Elastic Pore Mask Cleansing Foam 120mL ($29)
When I first Instagram-ed my Memebox, the pig caught people’s attention. This product contains “6000 mg of charcoal, 3000 mg of collagen from pig skin, and spider extract.” This combination will “penetrate deep into your pores, clearing away all dead skin cells and blackheads with bubbles as fine as a spider web.” Why wasn’t THIS in the OMG box? I was a bit weird-ed out since I detest/fear spiders and now I’ll be putting bits of them on my skin?! The cleanser is black, super black and it makes my skin feel so clean and nourished after trying it for a few days; but I’m still weirded out by the spider extract. I really want to know which part of the spider they extracted from to put into this cleanser. The cleanser smells fine, if you were wondering.
6. Ariul Spa Water 24 Hours Moisturizing Refreshing Mist 100mL ($18)
This is heaven water in a bottle. This mist smells exactly what you would find at a spa. The mist is made from “pure spa water extracted straight from Belgium rich minerals and various amino acids.” This can be used as a “boosting serum for enhancing absorbance of other skincare products” – basically I treat this product as a toner. I’m also guilty of sometimes not putting moisturizer on my face after a shower, but I do spray my face! The bottled packaging of the mist is super pretty as well!
The total value of the box is $153 whereas the box retailed for $29- this is a really great deal to dive into skincare products that do wonders to the skin. I’ve been impressed with the contents of the box and this is probably my favourite so far, to date.
