Hurro everyone, it’s been a while since I did an outfit post, and I thought it would be fun to show one of my outfits during the fall season. I haven’t gone shopping for SO LONG, and I’m hoping this weekend I have time to get a new jacket and some boots!
This time, my fashion inspiration is from Doctor Who. I haven’t been watching Season 8 lately, but I love the style of the companions (namely Amy Pond and Clara Oswald). In Season 7, Clara Oswald wore this tartan skirt with a black cardigan- and when I saw a similar red tartan skirt at H&M during early September, I snatched it right away.
As I was going to brunch, I wanted to dress a bit more casual so I opted out of the blazer and wore this “two in one” top from Loft. The top is actually a mock of a “dress shirt” under a sweater look, but I tucked the “dress shirt” part under the skirt. I’ve been phasing out of the typical jeans look lately and going for leggings + chunky sweaters OR sweater dresses and winter style skirts! This skirt must be worn with tights, as it is a bit too mini! 😛 I have quite a few tartan pieces, mainly tops in my closet as they are very versatile pieces to style with. My boots were purchased from Browns last year, and I love the rustic finish on them and how the laces are tied in the back. I do kind of regret not wearing black boots instead to make my legs look longer, but my brown booties have a chunky heel on it so I get to be taller for the day! 🙂 And for now, I’m still carrying around the mustard yellow 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target bag, I’ve been getting so many uses out of it lately!
(By the way, I am not doing a McD ad. My boyfriend and I are harsh trying to hunt down Monopoly game pieces from McDonalds, all my coffees have been purchased from there! Great marketing scheme Mcd….I applaud you. So far, no rare piece yet but a mini pile of free food, that’s always good isn’t it? 😉 I can never say no to free food!)
Speaking about boots, I really like this pair of Sorel Toronto Lace Up Boots– they have a wedge heel so I can fake my height, they’re lace up, and they’re waterproof oil suede- what do you think?!
