When I pick up an amazingly packaged lipstick, I will go OMG. So for a mystery beauty box that is called “OMG Box,” the bar has been raised. In August, Memebox launched Special #16 box- the “OMG Box.” I’ve read some reviews on previous OMG boxes so I was quite curious to see if I was going to get some animal spleens and juices in my skincare products.
This is the third Memebox on the blog, so a quick recap of what it is- a Korean subscription box that isn’t sold on a monthly basis. You can pick and choose what “themed” box you want and it is shipped from Korea! I received the “Memebox Special #16 OMG Box” and when I found out the name of it, I was hoping I’ll have some OMG moments as I unbox. Since this is a box that will supposedly make me go “OMG,” I will rate my OMG levels from 1-5. Let’s see if these products would make me go OMG as much as something like “OMG IT’S BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH!” (probably not)
1: Hope Girl Night Diva Gloss ($22)
This lip gloss has two shades in one and it’s to provide extreme moisture. It also has a built in LED light and a mirror so you can do touchups without running to the washroom. I found the quality of the lip gloss is average and doesn’t really show up on my lips. OMG? In my OMG level meter, this would be “Omg, this piece of cake looks good-” not very mind blowing. This might end up at the bottom of the pile of my other glosses. The leopard pattern cap is cute, though.
2. Skinaz Premium Vitablet ($46)
Adorable bottle! These are vitamin tablets chock full of Vitamin C that is used as a cleanser. There are” 8 fruits – pineapples, oranges, apples, peaches, raspberries, grapes, and strawberries – these facial vitamins will deliver essentials minerals and vitamins deep into the pores, calm and soothe irritated and sensitive skin, deliver intense hydration, and provide excellent anti-inflammatory benefits to the skin.” I can use it as a cleanser, a face mist, or even put it in a bath. I haven’t tried it yet but I am quite excited, especially for the bath! These are quite small, so not sure how many I should add in a bath tub though. I would rate this as an average “OMG!”
3: Skinaz The Kissable 24H Lip Tattoo($18)
This is kind of cool. This is a lip tattoo that you peel off your lips after applying it and leaving it on for 10 minutes. It is “infused with Damask Rose, Cherry Blossom, papaya, pomegranate, and orange extracts, this break-through Lip Tattoo with nourish, moisturize, and exfoliate, all while providing fool-proof color wear.” When I applied it, it’s a thick jelly like texture and then I peel it off like a pore strip (minus the pain!) The tube looks pretty orange but applies on pink. Unfortunately, it only stains my lips a LITTLE bit, this colour is a bit too sheer but the unique factor is definitely there. OMG? Yeah, this product appealed to me. I’m not sure how often I will wear it, since I’m not too patient to wait around for 10 minutes.

4: Pure Smile 3 Step Oh! My Busty Pack ($6)
Omg wtf? This seems to be a 3 step process to soften the boobs. It is recommended before wearing a bikini. Since I only got one of these, I got to save it for a special beach day lol. The three products in this pack is a “gommage” used for exfoliating dead skin cells, then a “hydro-gel” pack that is to be left on for 10-15 minutes. Afterwards, apply the cream to the bust for full absorbance. So in general.. exfoliate + mask + moisturize. I can probably use regular body exfoliant + a My Beauty Diary Mask + lotion and the effect is probably similar. This will be interesting. OMG (this is lols) indeed.
5: Ladykin Aqua Exfoliator for Body ($14)
“This enzyme peeling body product has 17 fruit and vegetable extracts as well as other ingredients: papaya, pineapple cellulose, licorice, bamboo left extract, blackberry extract, niacinamide, collagen, hyaluronic acid, grapefruit extract, persimmon leaf, mulberry root extract. ” If you have used exfoliating masks that are a gel like texture and then massage it onto your face, you see little grey bits form (aka dead skin cells) this is the exact same concept, except it’s for body. I’ve actually always wanted to try my masks on my body but it would be such a waste, so I’m glad there’s a larger size I can use on my legs. The spray mechanism came weird when I received the packaged and I think I may have officially broke it. This is a product I’m glad to have, but zero OMG factor to it. It’s not something I haven’t seen before in the skincare industry.
6. Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask (Price $46)
A bubble mask! I was intrigued when I read it. I have so many clay and grey masks at home since I’m all for pore murder. The interesting thing about this one is that it has carbonated water that bubbles up when applied on the face. I haven’t tried it yet and I can’t wait to see how it looks on my face. Will definitely selfie it up. I thought carbonated water/soda goes flat so I wonder how it can bubble up.
For a box that costs $29+ shipping, the total whopping value of the contents is $152. I don’t really deem this box as an “OMG” box, but it does have some great contents that I’m stoked to try. The lip gloss is the weakest link for me in here. I feel something for half the contents, whereas the other half I don’t feel like I would get much use out of it (the lip products.) I am curious to see what future OMG boxes Memebox will come out with though!
