It’s almost Autumn, but there’s still beautiful sunshine and clouds outside so why not throw on a simple, paradise look to reflect the weather? I won’t physically be anywhere warm in the winter (actually, I’m going to Bahamas in January 2o15!!) but for now, I am enjoying blue on the eyes and pink on the lips from essence cosmetics.
As this is part of Essence’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection, one would expect neutrals or maybe some plums. I like this fun, colourful palette to create “stand out eyes.” (Seriously, I think I came a long way from being fearful of eyeshadow 1.5 years ago and now I will slather the whole rainbow on my lids!) I am wearing essence all about paradise palette. There are six bright and trendy shades. The peach, pink, and blue shades are super fun and I can see myself reaching for them more. The yellow swatch looks kinda like pee on my arms (think my skintone just doesn’t look good with yellow LOL), so this will be my inner eye highlighter colour. The formula of the shadows could be smoother and easier to blend, but this palette is a steal for $4.99 CAD. There are a total of four palettes in this collection, if brights don’t suit you, there is a nude palette, a pastel palette, and a sunrise palette.

For the lips, I am wearing essence longlasting lipstick in natural beauty. The name is a true reflection of the colour of the lipstick, because the lipstick slots nicely into my “my lips but better” category. I thought it would look more brown when I opened the cap, but it’s a natural, dusty rose colour that sits naturally on me, rather than showing up intensely. The lipstick doesn’t feel heavy and it’s creaminess helps my lips feel moisturized. There are ten shades in the longlasting lipstick collection- each one values at $2.99, another awesome deal!
To add some more oomph to my lipstick, I layered essence XXXL shine lipgloss on top. Frosted Pink reminds me of cotton candy and smells like sweet berry pie. Unfortunately, this colour on me alone is horrific since it looks like I’m a robot with dipped silver lips so on top of lipstick it goes! There are 11 shades of XXXL shine lipglosses so if frosted pink isn’t the one for you, there might be another colour. They cost $2.49 and if you like extreme shimmer, this is worth trying.

Interesting observation- the palette is made in Poland, the lipstick is made in Italy, and the lip gloss is made in Germany! I decided to complete my paradise and tropical look with this super cute pinapple print shirt from MANGO. I personally am not a fan of the fruit, partially because I am slightly allergic to it and also had a traumatizing experience as a kid, but pineapples in general are just super adorable to look at!

With the range of colours and beauty products in essence fall/winter 2014 line, one can easily shop for a new makeup look for under $20! Are there any essence cosmetics products stand out to you? Do you have makeup that can cover your face for less than $20?
