Pretty much everyone can see through my poker face and I’m too poor to gamble,but I know all about Dealer’s Choice; the nail polish from Revlon that is.
My first experience with gel nails was half of me being in awe, and the other half of me was saying never again. As much as I love the lifetime of gel nails, the removal process aren’t meant for impatient people like me. I’m a bit skeptical of the all the gel nail polishes nowadays, but it never hurts to try more.Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy is the newest line of nail polish released by Revlon. This formula is a color + base so it’s supposed to save hassle from applying a base coat. Instead of names that reflect the color of the polish, all the names of the polishes have a gambling theme going on.
Dealer’s Choice is a rich turquoise shade. In the bottle, I can see sparkles in the formula, but once they’re on the nails, they are undetectable.Dealer’s Choice matches my David’s Tea Timolino bottle!
I used a clear top coat for this, but I think this colour would look incredible with a matte top coat. Using the brush was a bit tricky- the bristles are thick and dense so a lot of nail polish comes up when I take the brush out of the bottle, so I must remove all the polish from one side of the brush to prevent a globby mess on my nails.
Two coats gave me the perfect opaque finish. I usually do my nails at night and I’ll be on the computer blogging at the same time, and the polish dried pretty quickly without any damage done to them. I had them on for a week and there was minimal chipping, only my thumbs and index fingers showed signs of nail polish wear and tear.
A caveat with this polish is that the “base’coat in it doesn’t really work, I’ll have to apply a base coat before this next time. My nails were stained and looked like they were deprived of oxygen. When I removed my polish a , there was a blue hue on it and it looked like my hands belonged to a corpse. Hmm…this might make for a good /r/nosleep story.
Overall, if you want a long lasting hue, Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy excels in that for a drugstore formula. However, a base coat is recommended if you’re wearing a colour like this for a while. Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy can be purchased in drugstores such as Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs, or Target, Walmart.
