Doing my brows is a very foreign thing for me, and I guess I have to thank my parents for giving me genes that had let me grown thick, full brows. However, despite having ample hair on my brows, they do get out of hand and luckily I had the opportunity to fix that problem at Bombay Brow Bar.
Several weeks ago Bombay Brow Bar was hosting a “VIP Bombshell Party” at their Shangri-La Hotel location in downtown. They have a total of three locations, including Yaletown and Kitsilano. It was my first time at Bombay Brow Bar and the moment I walked in I loved the decor of golden framed mirrors and fuchsia walls; there’s a regal feel in here. Bombay Brow Bar not only offers brow grooming, they also have brow tinting, facial hair removal for females and males (so if any of you girls want to trick your boyfriend to getting any facial hair removal…hehe..) At the event, all attendees had the opportunity to get their eyebrow makeup done. Bombay Brow Bar carries their own line of brow makeup (and lip glosses too!) and they paired up the colour “Ash Brown” on me, which also happens to be the colour I got to take home and try.

After the event, we were all invited to try out a complimentary service to get bombshell brows ($24), courtesy of the Bombay Brow Bar. I made a reservation at the Shang-ri La location in Downtown Vancouver. I can’t remember the last time I trimmed/plucked my brows (look how fuzzeh they are) so I had been growing my brows for this! Before I started, Mandy drew a box around my eyebrows showing how they should be situated on my face. And then the de-hairing began!
I was definitely slightly freaking out from the threading – I had a creeping feeling before the thread touching my face, (sort of like knowing that there’s a spider in a room with me) but after a couple minutes, I got used to the feeling of having my hairs being plucked via thread, though I did flinch a bit. After a series of threading and plucking, Mandy gave me an eyebrow massage, I had the option of using rose gel or aloe gel. I opted with rose gel- an aloe vera based gel with rose oil in it. This is a much needed step to cool down the skin. The last step was brow makeup application. Again, the colour “ash brown” was applied on me for the natural brow look. Not only is filling the brows important, but highlighting them too to really bring them out. Mandy used a pearly beige colour under the whole brow to accentuate the arch.

Omgoodness the hairs on my brows were so tamed and clean afterwards. Although my visit at Bombay Brow Bar was only around 20 minutes, I felt like a lot more work was put in it than I expected. If I’m letting someone handle brows, the results of how I look like is entirely dependent on them. and Bombay Brow Bar has impressed me. The picture on the left is the finished product from Bombay Brow Bar. I’m going to start practicing on making my brows look as polished as that.

Do you get your brows groomed regularly? How do you handle your brows?
