It’s time to do a summer cleanup of my room and realize how much stuff I have (I think I’m sort of like those people on Extreme Couponing, but not as intense. And I realized I’m behind on several things including…
- making two cosplays by August 22nd for Anime Revolution. I really got to sew that dragon plushie.
- making a bunch of jewelry for Anime Revolution as a vendor.
- trying to use up at least one makeup item!
I’m having a hard time sticking with one product for too long so I am trying to commit myself to these items for June. It’s time to transition my makeup choices from spring to summer now and I think I can venture into some of the products that I haven’t touched for a while. As I mentioned in a previous post, I alternate between Kiehl’s BB Cream, Marcelle CC Cream, and NARS Tinted Moisturizer for some SPF power.

Starting with the eyes….presenting one of the very few colourful palettes I have owned (my first colourful palette was Sleek Makeup – Candy Collection Palette and it’s AMAZING)! The Kat Von D Esperanza Eyeshadow Palette
(not available at Sephora anymore D: ) and I used it when I first got it, but then I stowed it away for several weeks.
I need to use this more! This palette of 8 eyeshadow shades feels like butter – with three matte shades (archangel, placebo, and south,) and 5 shimmery shades including dayglo which is a “transformer” shade; a shimmery white with a yellow tint. Selena and placebo (purple and coral pink) pair together like husband and wife, south, galore, archangel (beige, shimmery peach, and mint green) is great for the neutral eye makeup days (mint green works!); santeria and dog roses (smoky grey green and bronze) are for those sexy sultry eye days. And dayglo; anything for extra shimmer!
Kat von D eyeliner is second to none. I’ve tried Stila and Urban Decay and none of them can compare to Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper ($22 CAD). It’s rain proof, sweat proof, exercise proof, and sleep proof! I was jumping around eyeliners but I am sticking to this one. They should make pens out of this eyeliner ink. I got this teez Desert Metals mascara in my LouLou Summer Topbox and it doesn’t smudge (even when I fell asleep with it) and easy to remove.
Ah blushes, have a bit too much and I don’t wear enough of it. One of my favourites is Kiko Sun Bronzing Blush in Marine Coral, I bought this in London last year and I owe a full review of it because it’s a jewel. The blush used to be dome shaped and now it’s almost flat so HOPEFULLY I’m about to hit pan soon; if I wear it more. My current bronzer is Sephora’s MicroSmooth Baked Face Compact in Mat Tan ($27.50 Cad). So little product is needed to get that glow! Kiko’s blush + this bronzer = easy contouring! And, I rediscovered my accidentally banished Buxom’s blush in Euphoria (review here).
I enjoy purchasing bright coloured lippies, but I still opt for “My Lip But Better” lipsticks. L’Oreal Colour Riche Riche Extraordinare in Fuschia Orchestra reminded of Elsa from Frozen’s lip colour and I was into this gloss, but then I got addicted to NYX lip creams….I am determined to wear more of this!
When it comes to beauty, not only do I like makeup, I LOVE hair products. A bad hair day can make or break a day and can ruin an outfit. I remember being so sad in my Grade 12 graduation dinner and dance because I absolutely hated my hair because the stylist didn’t listen to me. I deal with frizzy hair almost every day of my life(almost all my blog pictures have hair poking around my face.-_-) I was in the states last month and purchased L’Oreal “Sleek It Strand Smoother Serum-Spray.” It makes me wanna touch my the top of my head all day!
I think the only products I commit to mostly is skincare, shampoo, conditioner, lip balm, and hand cream!
Any summer favourites?? Do you have a problem committing to one product for a long period of time?
