I did a previous blog post about my love for Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Heftiest Hibiscus, and when I purchased it, I got a gift with purchase that included a mini Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Mightiest Maraschino. Out of the two, I prefer Heftiest Hibiscus, as I think an orange, coral lip is more fitting for me than a red like this. I can’t see myself wearing red too often! ><” When I think of maraschino, I think of those bright red cherries that are in cocktails or cakes; I absolutely LOVE eating them- I used to call them fake cherries. I was at Red Robins having their lemonade drinks that had cherries inside, and I asked for extra in a bowl just to eat on the side. However, the colour for Mightiest Maraschino (a bit of a over-the-top name, don’t you think?) does not reflect one of my favourite drink garnishes. Mightiest Maraschino is a darker, blue based cherry red and reminds me of an old Hollywood look.
Since this is a sample size product, it doesn’t have the silver lid like the original product. The packaging is the same as pretty much all pencil lipsticks/balms I’ve seen, I wonder if any brand will come up with a new design on these soon?
Like Heftiest Hibsicus, Mightiest Maraschino is emollient and glides on the lips, but it’s hard to make sure the product stays within the lip lines. For some reason, I am the absolute messiest when it comes to a red lip! Since this is an “intense” formula of the Clinique chubby sticks, it is very pigmented unlike most tinted lip balms. Again, the balm does emphasize my dryness, so coloured, outlined flakes (sorry if that’s too much information) shows up quite visibly.
I have some more fat lipstick pencils to review in the future! So far, Heftiest Hibiscus is still number 1 chubby pencil in my heart! Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Lip Balms can be purchased in stores or online at Sephora or The Bay for $19 CAD.
Also, these pictures are taken pre-haircut, so I didn’t cut my hair long or anything!
