Omgosh! Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I’ve been busy at Fan Expo Vancouver and it’s been an amazing turnout this year…and I got to meet Draco Malfoy/Tom Felton, who is one of the friendliest actors ever!!! This review is a bit overdue; I bought this blush when I was in Hong Kong during Christmas. Don’t you have a love/hate relationship with makeup products and brands that are country/continent specific? You’re happy to get something new, but once you go back home, the chances of purchasing it again is unlikely. One of these products I bought in Hong Kong is the L’Oreal Paris Lucent Magique Blush of Light Glow Palette in Blusing Kiss. I was sold when I read the name.I think I compare the L’Oreal Paris Lucent Magique Blush of Light with Hourglass Ambient Blush since they’re both aiming to sell a product with mystical technology that gives you the perfect flush and glow that comes from within. The difference is, the L’Oreal product costed around $10 and the Hourglass was four times of it. Let’s break down the Blush of Light now~!
Isn’t the packaging similar? Rose Gold covering, but I like how this is flat so it’s easy to slip into a purse.
Tada, the inside! I have a weakness for blush palettes like these, I counted I have a total of 6 of them (SIX! I swear I have a lifetime of these now..) There is a trio of colours that are created for Asian skin tone to bring that natural flush. Blushing Kiss has a light pink highlighter colour, a rose pink, and a coral pink. These colours are to help sculpt the “perfect 3D glow.” There is also a small brush, which is convenient for to-go applications.
The blush isn’t very pigmented, so I had to repeatedly swipe the palette to show the swatch. The powder is finely milled and easy to blend; however, I prefer using a more rounder brush than the flat one that came with it. It was harder to blend with the small rectangular brush and the blush would look too straight on my cheeks. Using the small brush made the blush looked like it sits on my skin, rather than giving me the flush.
Oh, but I love the finish! The combination of the pinks brightened up my cheeks quite well. I don’t know if you can tell, but some of the sparkles are attached to my pores, so I needed a lighter hand in dabbing the light pink highlighter portion; since I wanted to highlight that area on top of my cheekbones. The trick is to blend well to prevent the blush to look too shiny on the cheeks.
Although this product is meant for Asian people, I think the pinks are similar to other colours I’ve seen around Sephora, and it’s versatile for everyone. Nevertheless, the colour is gorgeous and I recommend it if you’re looking for a blush palette in the drugstore price range. I prefer using my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush to look natural, but I like carrying this around since it’s more compact and has a brush (even though it is not as easy to use.) This product can only be purchased in Asian countries ( I think) or online at Sasa.com.
Allright readers, last day of Fan Expo for me tomorrow and I’m soo tired! I’ll be prancing in my Frozen Elsa costume again tomorrow and will be going to the Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) panel! 🙂 Hope you all had an awesome long weekend!
