Hiii! I feel like I haven’t blogged in a long time…that’s because I’m procrastinating and cramming my Mako Mori Pacific Rim costume for Fan Expo Vancouver which is happening in less than a week! (Here’s a sneak peek of my Mako face here on instagram!) I have so much blog reading/commenting to catch up on! Oh, it’s also finally spring here in Vancouver and I visited Graveley Street (near Rupert) in Vancouver to look at the beautiful cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms that bloom on Graveley Street is really popular, and tons of people go there to snap pictures. The trees are aligned down the road, and the branches stretch across the road and the branches are dense with cherry blossoms. Most of the trees now are starting to have leaves, but the ones on Graveley Street still have blossoms on it!
My outfit of the day is inspired by the nautical theme. I love blue and white stripes and I wish I could be on a cruise right now and just relax! My blue and white striped long tee is from Hong Kong’s MANGO store. The design is simple, and the little detail of three gold buttons on the shoulder of the shirt adds to shirt. Since it’s a bit loose, I used a braided belt around the waist. I can’t recall where I got it from- I’m fairly sure it was somewhere in Seattle and it was $3! The belt is also a bit long on me, so I tucked it in to look like a bow.
PS- My jeans are from Primark; I bought them when I went to London last year. I believe they were around $10. SUCH A STEAL! I believe that store is even more affordable than Forever 21.
I am wearing a pair of teal ballet flats I bought from Aldo. I saw these in stores last summer with a $60 price tag, so I resisted purchasing them for a while. During the “Canada” Black Friday sale, they were only $20, so I knew they were calling out to me again. Honestly, they’re not the most comfortable and not the best for long term walking or standing. But, the colour is so perfect!
To contrast the navy blue- white striped shirt, I am carrying my small mustard bag I got from the Philip Lim for Target collaboration. I will definitely see myself wearing this during spring and summer, it’s such a happy colour!
For accessories, I kept it simple and stacked two bracelets- a blue/white charm bracelet against a Pandora bracelet- lots of white, blue, and silver going around!
I had so much fun standing under the trees, (and people watching could get interesting too.) As much as I love cherry blossoms, I can’t wait for the transition to summer- good weather, ice cream, and Starbucks frappuccinos is going to fill my sunny days!
Aite, I am back to working on my costumes! If you are following me on any social networks, be prepared to see a nerd side to me! 🙂
