For someone who likes to integrate cobalt blue in my fashion choices, I’m glad I can use it in beauty too…which is NYX Studio Liquid Eyeliner in Extreme Blue. There are those days where I’m up for another coloured eyeliner. Usually I go for purple but I have now ventured into blue!
You can purchase NYX products at London Drugs or at the (newly) opened Target in BC! I bought mine from Target for $6.99! I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about NYX but I never tried out their stuff until recently. When I saw this electric blue colored thing sitting in an acrylic organizer, my eyes were immediately drawn.
The size of the eyeliner is quite mini, about half the size as a regular eyeliner pen or pencil. It’s small size makes it easy to throw in your purse or clutch.
Stila released their “Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner” in Cobalt last year at the cost of $26CAD. When I tried it from Sephora, I wasn’t sure if I picked up a faulty one or not because the colour wasn’t as rich as I like. The NYX Studio Liquid Eyeliiner is a more affordable and preferable option.
With one swish and flick (*insert Harry Potter geek moment when they were learning how to make objects levitate with the spell Wingardium Leviosa and you have to swish and flick the wand…*) of the fine tipped eyeliner pen, you get a stunning electric blue.
I prefer the ends of my eyeliner pens to be more “solid” rather than fine and precise , because it is a bit tricky to do a flick at the end of the eye (it is simple to line the eyeliner around the contour of my eyes though!). After a bit of practice I got a look that I was satisfied with. I read reviews that the eyeliner burns the eye, but I haven’t had mishaps where I poke my eyeballs so no problems so far..(except I have sort of accidentally coloured my eyelashes).
The eyeliner is quite wet, so I had to wait around 45 seconds for the eyeliner to dry completely. The finish is great; an eyecatching blue that makes the eyes stand out.
There are other colours in the NYX Studio Liquid Eyeliner collection such as gold and purple. I still mainly wear black eyeliner so I will resist buying more coloured eyeliners for the time being!
