Last year when I was in London, I was browsing along the beauty section of Harrods and couldn’t help myself but stop at the Burberry counter. I couldn’t resist walking away empty handed, thus, I have purchased the most expensive lip product I have ever owned (thank goodness for tax back for non-residents of Europe!) If I was going to splurge on an expensive lipstick, it would be a colour that I could wear with anything. In the end, I settled with Burberry Lip Mist in Pink Heather.
The packaging; it’s so luxurious! It is a pretty hefty lipstick. I love the squareness of it! The case is holographic charcoal grey with the checkered Burberry pattern splattered across.
The classic checkered pattern is also stamped on the lipstick itself.
There are different lipstick lines of Burberry, and Lip Mists are one of them. Lip Mists gives a “sheer illuminating finish” with a touch of colour. The formula is moisturizing and my lips feel glossy and hydrated without that over the top look. Even though I layer the colour over my lips several times, it does not feel heavy nor waxy. The lipstick does transfer easily on drinking cups and such, so I needed to reapply it between meals. However, if I’m shopping or sitting infront of a computer for hours, the lipstick does not budge out of my lip lines and it lasts for 4-5 hours!
As seen in the swatch below, it’s a nude salmon pink colour with a bit of shine in it.
Burberry lipsticks are quite expensive, but I felt that I got what I paid for; beautiful packaging, a moisturizing formula with good colour payoff, and it lays as a shining jewel in my collection. I’m not sure how much they cost in Canada, but after i got my tax refund,I paid around around $35-$36 in London. After my beauty splurge in London last year, I’ve been avoiding high end lipsticks. I should stop buying lip products all together, but……I can’t help myself if a good deal pops up at a drugstore or something!
