Hi everyone, sorry I haven’t updated my blog for weeks! I’m going to start setting weekly blogging goals so I can keep up with blog consistency! Shopping at Sephora was crazy this weekend as there was a 20% off sale. I picked up mostly skincare items; one of the few makeup products I bought was the Tarte Thoughtful Best Sellers Set.
The set comes with 0.24oz Pure Maracuja Oil, 0.053oz Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Thankful, and 0.06oz Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint in Energy.
I’ve been wanting to try the Maracuja Oil for a while, but I never wanted to purchase the full 1.7oz bottle for $55. According to the website, Maracuja Oil is pressed from the maracuja fruit from Amazon. It’s said to provide firmer and brighter skin. Since I haven’t tried it for long term yet, I haven’t noticed any significant results. I tried using it after showering by adding several drops on my face; and my skin was smooth when I woke up in the morning. The smell of the oil is more “oilier” (like vegetable oil) than other hair/body oils- this could be because the maracuja oil is undiluted and organic.
I love Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hr Blushes; the only one I’ve tried from their line before is Dolly. I refrained from purchasing other blushes so I don’t crowd my collection; so I was excited to get a mini version of another blush! Thankful is a golden pink colour. Compared to the regular sizes of the Tarte blushes, there is no mirror in it and it is lighter and more plasticy. Thankful is a deeper pink and it has a shimmer that gives a great definition to the cheekbones when it hits the light. It can be buildable to a pink-orange colour.
I’m into products that changes lip colour; I’ve done a review before on Dior Lip Glow and Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Glow. I’ve also had my eye on the Tarte LipSurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint for a while, so getting a mini version of it in this set is good timing! It’s a very hydrating lip product, almost “wet” and it has a minty smell; though it doesn’t give the lips a tingly feel. I noticed that my lips change colour a few seconds after applying it on. I get a darker, rosy hue when I use the LipSurgence Lip Tint. It’s very glossy and transfers easily to napkins; so I prefer to dab the lip product a bit before heading out to keep the product on longer.
I think this set is a great deal, for those who have already used Tarte products or those who want to try Tarte. I hope you all had a great shopping at Sephora weekend, or a great weekend in general!
