One of the recent and hyped up releases is the collaboration between Revlon and Marchesa is their Nail Art 3D Jewel Appliqués. There are 8 different designs in their line, and they are garnished with different textures or rhinestones. Nails are not only pretty, but also high fashion.
(Also- wanted to mention that I apologize for not blogging during the weekend, as I was in Seattle for a mini shopping/food spree!)

I received a package of Revlon by Marchesa nail art when I attended the beauty blog conference, BlogVancity, and I finally got the chance to play around with them. I chose the burgundy and gold combination that’s called Royal Burgundy. The dark, wine-brownish red is a great fall colour and it complements the gold very well. I also really like the royal, medieval prints on the nail sticker. I love the dresses Marchesa designs, as I was greatly influenced by watching too much Gossip Girl where Blair and Serena wore several Marchesa dresses.
Basically, these nail appliqués are stickers for the nails. The package comes with a mini file, buffer, and cuticle stick. There are 18 stickers with various sizes and you can pick which sticker would be most fitting for your nail size. My nails have quite a wide surface area, so I didn’t have to worry too much about shrinking the width of the sticker, but those with smaller nails might have to do a bit of cutting.
I was hoping that these nail art would be an easy application, but I was wronged. It was a bit of a challenge to put the nail art on without creasing the edges of the sticker, since my nails have quite a curve at the side. The stickers are very long, so I had to file each one down after I stuck them on, and it took a while to make it look decently even without looking at my nails up close. I did use a base coat before hand, and when I had to peel the Revlon sticker off my nail to readjust the edges, my base coat just peeled right off.
Half an hour later, I finally finished applying all the stickers. Like wrapping a present, if you are patient with it and fold all the corners nicely and cut them evenly, the gift is presentable. These stickers are just like wrapping paper; it looks exquisite once it’s all done. I also applied a clear top coat over it for extra shine and a longer lasting life.
What I liked is that there are extra stickers left over that are useful if you mess up in application. Also, I can save them up for the future, and maybe only use one sticker on my ring finger and the paint the other nails. Personally. although I think they’re beautiful; they require more effort than I prefer compared to painting nails.
Revlon by Marchesa Nail Art 3D Jewel Appliqués are currently sold at drugstores such as Shoppers Drug Mart and London Drugs. Do you plan to purchase a box for yourself, or is it too much work?
