For several months now, I have gotten into buying perfumes. It’s hard to resist buying all the different fragrances on the market, but realistically, what are the chances of me ever finishing them within a timely manner? I now try to stick to a limited number of perfumes and use them as much as I can. The four scents that I am currently attached to is Victoria’s Secret Just a Flirt, Marc Jacobs Honey, Juicy Couture, and Chloé.
For work or casual days, I don’t want to overpower people around me with too strong of a fragrance. I chose to use Victoria’s Secret Such a Flirt. To ensure the fragrance last as long as possible, I use the body mist in conjunction with the body lotion. This scent lasts at least 12 hours on me! Such a Flirt is a blend of starfruit and orchid; I find that the scent leans toward the fruitier side, which is fine by me! After a while, the scent smells like a mix of starfruit and berries. The lotion absorbs quite quickly, which is great since I use it in the mornings right before changing and I don’t get that sticky feeling from clothes. The lotion is also moisturizing; and contains ingredients such as aloe, oat, and grapeseed extracts.
Where to Buy: Victoria’s Secret, $12 each or 3 for $25
For hanging out with the girls or dates, I love Honey by Marc Jacobs. I’m a huge sucker for Marc Jacobs products and the cute packaging. This scent is definitely a bit of an investment. Honey is a scent for those who prefer fruity smells. There are notes of pear and juicy mandarin, which can be detected when sprayed; and after it settles into a sweet, fresh scent. As the day drags on longer, it smells more vanilla-peachy. I recommend getting a sample at Sephora and wear it for several days!
Where to Buy: Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart $80 for 50mL, $105 for 100mL
For the night out and parties, I like to go with Juicy Couture or Chloé. I actually bought the original Juicy Couture scent by accident, as I was actually looking for Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture instead. There is a blend of both fruity and floral notes; including: Watermelon, Mandarin, Pink Passion Fruit, Marigold, Green Apple, Water Hyacinth, Crushed Leaves, Tuberose Absolute, Wild Rose, Princess Lily, Tuberose, Caramel Creme Brulee, Vanilla, Precious Woods, Patchouli. (source: Sephora) I love apple scents, so perhaps that’s why I’m hooked onto this? I also love the square packaging of the rollereball, and the casing is a matte plastic rather than glass. This scent might be a bit more mature, but it’s a great baby step for those who want to find a scent that’s a bit more sophisticated.
I received the Chloé rollerball in a box set of Sephora favourites a while ago and it slowly climbed to the top of perfume list. The scent could be overpowering, thus only a little bit is neccessary to smell great. Sniffing the rollerball alone, I detect that the scent of lychee is a tad bit more dominant than the floral scents (pink peony and freeisa,) and then after a while, the scent settles into a musky, rose scent. Chloé is a scent that captures femininity and leaves a lasting impression. A girl sat beside me on the bus wearing this the last week, and for some reason I forgot what it was but it smelled so good, until it hit me that it was a Chloé scent.
Where to buy: Sephora- rollerballs are $30 each

The next fragrance I have my eye on is Prada Candy, and Jo Malone Earl Grey and Cucumber. Finishing perfume is not an easy task; who wants to smell the same every day?! If you share any of the same scents as I do, let me know, or tell me which is your go to fragrance!
