The weather in over here in Vancouver continues to be great and I decided to break free out of my comfort zone and wore a skirt going out. I’m more of a shorts or jeans kind of person, but it’s fun to dress up once in a while! Mint green clothing still holds a gravitational pull on me and I opted to incorporate some mint in my look today.
I had a catch- up time with my blogger friend, Mr.Walk N Talk, and he took these photos with his new DSLR. We always have great chats on life over dinner, desserts, and shopping. It’s great to have a blogger friend who can understand you so well.
I rarely wear skirts or dresses, so I was unsure how to pair a top with this skirt. My mint green skirt came from Aritzia. I don’t normally shop there since the clothes are fairly more expensive, but when they had their sale, I tried this on and fell in love with it. Not only did I love the colour, but I love the ruffles around the waist area with the bow tie, and also the way the skirt bounces and flares when I walk.
Because the skirt is a softer colour, I chose a lace tank top that I bought from Zara several years ago. This lace tank top is one of my favourite tops for any bottoms because it’s so versatile. I can wear it with jeans for a day time look, or with this skirt for a dressed up look. I’ve worn this tank top under a blazer to interviews, to my Engineering Iron Ring Ceremony, to dates, to tea parties….a lace top is definitely one of my closet staples.
I threw on a black blazer to complete my look. This blazer was bought in Hong Kong 3 years ago, and I’m glad I still fit it! A black blazer is another staple in the closet, especially one that I can wear casually or professionally. I love interesting lining inside blazers, and I’m particularly attached to this one since it’s more unique than the ones I’ve seen here in Canada.
I love pairing mint and peachy colours together and I always tend to do that without trying. Once again, I’m using my peach aldo bag that I’ve used in previous outfits, such as here. To match my white lace top, I am wearing this Marc by Marc Jacobs watch.
I’ve gotten many compliments on this old watch that I bought this at the Fossil outlet in Seattle Premium Outlets- they have tons of watches on sale so anyone going there should check it out! I love the whiteness of this watch because it’s bright and it stands out. I like the watchface because it’s colourful and it’s different, instead of using numbers, there are words “BY MARC JACOBS” instead. The bright colours is especially fitting for summer, though I wear this watch year round.
Comfy shoes are a must. These flats were from the Bass outlet, which was also at Seattle Premium Outlets. When I wear these flats, it’s like walking on cushions since there’s a lot of padding in the sole. Hurray!
I had a lot of fun running around Richmond and Vancouver in a skirt, a huge Whitney-change for once And I have come to believe that mint and peach are my signature colours now!
