When I was in the cosmetic store, SaSa, in Hong Kong, I saw a small tray of TonyMoly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar and they were the cutest thing ever, I had to buy one! TonyMoly is a Korean company that sells skincare and cosmetics and they have some of the most unique packaging! Adorable packaging always sucks me into major consumerism, and now I ended up with a bunny shaped lip product in my purse! This costed $62HKD which is approximately $8 USD. What are these bunny gloss bars?
Out of the five colours, the swatch of the peach coloured gloss was my favourite.
The packaging is a total win to me. The stick is a retractable stick where you twist on the bottom. The colour of the product is something I would wear, but the quality of the product is similar to your average lip balm. In fact, I find that my Maybelline BabyLips Lip Balm or Nivea Lip Balm has more hydration power than the TonyMoly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar. I find myself adding a layer of lip balm before putting on the TonyMoly colour, or wearing something over this. It felt moisturizing when I swatched it on the back of my hand, but the appearance on the lips is different.
The colour of this product is a coral-peachy colour. It makes a great, natural colour, but it really emphasizes dried or cracked lips. It looks better if I wear a layer of lip balm or lip gloss over it; which kind of defeats the purpose. The smell of it is amazing, like a really good cup of peach bubble tea or candy.
As you can see in the pictures, it doesn’t show up very peach on me, more of a light coral-pink.
I can’t help it if I like collecting gimmicky, cute products. Consumerism aside, if it wasn’t for the packaging, I wouldn’t have enjoyed using the product as much as it is. It’s a very average tinted lip balm and I judged the book before its cover when I bought this.
