A recent lip colour I have been using is Maybelline’s Colour Sensational Lip Colour in Pink Me Up (#045). I got this on sale at London Drugs for $4.99.
The packaging is a bit bulky and very light- I can feel its plastic-y material when I hold it. When I peeled off the tape around it, part of it is still stuck on the lid, which is quite annoying. The casing already has scratches on it, and it’s not like I throw it around a lot either.
To me, it is a dusty pink colour. I think it’s a very neutral pink colour that would look great on various skin tones. It’s also very pigmented, but not overwhelming.
The colour seems dark, but once applied on the lips, it looks very natural and flattering. The texture of the lipstick is very creamy, it almost feels like a lip balm.There is a slight vanilla cupcake-like smell and no funky taste to it.
To make the colour apply more evenly looking, I usually dab some Nivea Hydro Care lip balm as a “primer.” I didn’t feel my lips drying up after hours of usage. It didn’t come off while I was eating or drinking, and it lasts fairly long too (at least 4 hours for me)! I think this lip colour does an excellent job in brightening the face!
