Couple days ago, I washed my makeup brushes with Sonia Kashuk’s Brush and Sponge Cleaner I bought from Target for $6.69.
There were instructions on the back of the bottle, so it was easy to use. I sprayed the hairs of the brush, then wet it, and massage it in the palm of my hand and I get a bunch of foamy bubbles. I notice the pigments of the brush would end up on my hand and out of the brush, which I was very happy about! After massaging the hairs, I rinsed the brush and use my thumb + index finger to squeeze the hairs to make sure no cleanser is trapped in. Then I just laid them flat to air dry!
For fluffy brushes, 2-3 squirts cleans the brush fairly well. I had a white brush that went from pink to white again!
Before I used this cleanser, I just squeezed shampoo in my hand and rinsed the brushes. I thought I would buy a cleanser instead since the price is fairly reasonable; although shampoo is much cheaper. They both contain water and sodium laureth sulfate; and other ingredients were fairly similar.
Anyhow, I think this is a good try and a very fair priced product! It is convenient to just grab this from my shelf and spray around. Sadly, there’s no Target in BC (yet) so I’ll have to stock up again when I go to the states!
How do you wash your makeup brushes? I would like to know- since I’m sure everyone has their own method.
