Make Up Forever HD Primer in No.5 Blue!
I tearfully handed my cash last week at Sephora to pick up this primer that I have been wanting to get for a while. Before this, I never used any primer on my face and one time I was looking at at a magnified mirror…oh the horror.
Make Up Forever has 6 different colored primers, each color can aid people with certain types of skin.
Here’s a quick run down on the colors:
Color 0 (Neutral) – adds natural luminosity to the complexion
Color 1 (Green) – minimizes redness – ideal for skin with rosacea
Color 2 (Mauve) -counteracts sallow undertones
Color 4 (Caramel)- combats ashiness in medium to dark skin tones/warms golden tones
*yes, there is no color 3
Color 5 (Blue) – adds radiance to fair skin/ reduces minor imperfections
Color 6 (Yellow) – lightens dark complexions
Color 7 (Pink)- brightens the complexion/ counteracts sallow undertones
What else does the HD Microperfecting Primer do?
- nourishes, moisturizes, and softens skin
- create a protective layer on the skin
I was debating whether I should get the green or blue primer, and ended with blue because I have slight redness (around my nose) and to fill in my pores.
PROS
- Smooths skin – One time I felt my cheeks where my primer was on it was so smooth!
- Not drying
- Fills my pores – sometimes I put undereye concealer and pat it under my eyes/around my cheeks and I could see the concealer being “dotty,” but this primer minimizes it
- Smells great and easy to blend in with finger
- Requires less than pea sized amount to blend in the areas of my face that needs cover up
CONS
- Hefty price for 30 mL/ 1.0 fl oz ($32USD/$37CAD)
- Because the area around my nose is reddest, I put a little bit of primer there. However, since that area is also drier compared to my face, I can see the outline of my skin and the primer does not sink into the dry bits
Will I buy again? Maybe, if I had a coupon from Sephora next time or something. Hopefully this bottle lasts me at least 6-8 months! Otherwise, I think I’ll scout for a cheaper primer.
