I feel a bit more motivated to prep blog posts once I have some tasks out of the way. Those tasks included going to the gym (an ‘ugh’ moment every time,) catching up on Riverdale, and finishing 13 reasons why!! Now, I have another wave of lip products to be thrown on here and I hope you don’t mind. I haven’t even had time to blog about my Shoppers Drug Mart redemption haul (though i wasn’t really exciting, one of my purchases was orange juice and vitamins.) Speaking of what you can get drugstores, Burt’s Bees have four new shades in their line of lipsticks!
I haven’t tried the original Burt’s Bees Lipsticks but I’ve read some reviews on other blogs about how good they are. Honestly, with the cost of living so high now, we don’t have $30 for a new lipstick every time (as much as I’d like one.) Burt’s Bees Lipsticks contains 100% naturally moisturizing ingredients, such as moringa and raspberry seed oils. It says it provides 8 hour moisture, but they wear around 2-3 hours on me since they’re pretty soft and creamy.
The four shades new to spring and summer are: Crimson Coast, Wine Wave, Orchid Ocean, Doused Rose. Crimson Coast and Wiine Wave look very similar at first; but Crimson Coast has a bit more red and Wine Wave is a tad bit more raspberry. (In here I shall assume raspberry as a shade.) Orchid Ocean is your typical vampy lip shade and Doused Rose is a very nice pink!
I’m kind of done with wearing shades like Orchid Ocean. Seems like the dark wine ones can easily look patchy on me and it’s hard to find something that rolls on evenly for this particular shade. If you love the dark lip trend, by all means try this one out, but I don’t think I’ll be wearing this shade much. Even my face is a bit meh. 🙁
These lipsticks are PIGMENTED! My lips stand out more than a stop sign. I like both Wine Wave and Crimson Coast (totally applied out of the lip line,) but they are definitely colours suited for going out.
YES!! A pink that suits my skin one. Doused Rose completes my “office face,” and makes my skin look a bit brighter too!
Doused Rose is the easiest lipstick to wear since when it wears off, it’s not as as noticeable. The bolder, darker shades don’t have the longest lifespan, which causes me to check the mirror for feathering and smudging. That definitely happened for Orchid Ocean. I’m glad that we have more lipstick options while shopping in a drugstore, especially ones with good ingredients.
You can shop for Burt’s Bees online or in drugstores or natural grocers.
