Hi everyone! *sighs* It’s been 5 years and 1 month since I started my blogging journey here! That’s like, half a decade, and I’m surprised I managed to make it this far. My brain has a bit too fried lately to do any makeup or skincare reviews (rest assured, there IS a lot coming,) but just want to ramble on here for now, show an #ootd, and feature my latest water bottle, gifted from Copper H20.
I wanted to do an outfit shoot after having afternoon tea at Notch 8 at Fairmont Hotel Vancovuer, so my friend helped me take a few snaps (kudos to my friends who bear with me when I do anything “for the blog.” To be honest though, my strength was succumbing in these boots; they’re from ECCO and though they’re supposed to be comfortable, I was getting tired walking like a camel anyway. Sometimes these shots aren’t as glamorous as they look (and my looks are far, FARRRRR from glamour.) Though I love Dynamite clothing, I have way too many things from there and so do other people of Vancouver. I really want to rearrange my wardrobe and go minimal at the same time – and I’ve been checking out Mixology.
One fact about me; I always carry water around with me (and may get made fun of it too, but that’s cool.) I recently received a hammered copper bottle from Copper H2O* so I put my thermos for a rest and carried my chic bottle instead. I met with Jessica, the founder, and I learned a lot more about the copper – and they do more than being made into a penny! Copper has antibacterial properties..which means I don’t have to clean the bottle as often (YES!!!)
Copper also has anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties; so it does more than just looking pretty. I can’t attest if these properties are working for me, but nevertheless, the Copper H2O bottle design is really pretty and I like not cleaning my utensils. #simplelife And the taste nor quality of water is altered by patina! I’m curious to see how the bottle will look overtime as it reacts with air! 🤓🤓
As I sit back and watch certain life events happen around me, I realized life IS too short. I always say that but never really act on it; I spend more time on Netflix and less outside. In the span of five years, I’ve rarely shared much about me. I’ve only sprinkled tidbits of my life here and there in between reviews. Sometimes I’m not the nice person everyone thinks I am, I have so many angry thoughts when I sit on the Canada Line almost everyday. If you ask my friends what I’m like, I’m pretty saracastic. I leap when takeout is ordered because I don’t have to tip. And I get an adrenaline rush when I spend an hour finding a coupon code to save $2.
2017 is the year I want to take risks, cross boundaries, maybe be even a bit selfish for my own happiness; as effin’ cheesy as that sounds. I don’t think I’ve been in touch with ‘feelings’ as much as I’ve had until recently. Don’t worry all- I’m not being a sad person right now, but I’m more reflective than ever. And maybe I’ll finally take my road test (baby steps right?!) and learn how to cook a decent three course meal.
It has been mentioned before, I want to expand beyond my beauty reviews on Macarons & Mischief. I want to talk about the simple things too, such as my unhealthy eating habits and share my Spotify playlists. I will be travelling to Florida and New York City in a few months and am super excited for all the food I’m going to eat! Be prepared for lots of travel posts.
Current mood: major procrastination for my engineering exam. (Why am I in engineering? I wanted to be a somebody, but also take as less courses as possible. That is probably a very bad idea; but I DO hope I’m making an impact in our British Columbia-n society at work. Perhaps I’ll save all of this for another blog post another day!)
Share me your sarcastic thoughts or rants- I’m hear to listen and respond!
